Akron Abrader is to rub the sample and the grinding wheel under a certain inclination angle and a certain load to determine the abrasion index by compared with standard rubber. Akron abrasion test method includes BS 903 A9, GB/T 1689, JIS-K6264, astm and etc.

The Akron Abrasion Tester is used to determine wear resistance of vulcanized rubber and elastic material products, like shoes sole, tires, vehicle tracks, by measuring its wear volume caused by rubbing between specimen and sandwheel.

• This tester is to evaluate the abrasion resistance of vulcanized rubber and thermoplastic rubber.
• By pressing the rotating circular test specimen at a certain test load to the circumference surface of the abrading wheel, the operator is to acquire the abrading mass of the test specimen.
• The test specimen will usually be tires and shoe soles.
• The wear resistance of vulcanized rubber is expressed with the abrasion loss of the rubber sample under mechanical firiction
